This is the opening session of the Intercon Net.  Intercon is a controlled net.  We meet on or about this frequency from 07:00 a.m. till noon Eastern Time daily.  My name is __________ and I am located in ____________ so please aim your beam in my direction as I will be your Net Control for the next ________.

The purpose of this Net is to serve amateurs by: Promoting good will among amateurs around the world without transmitting illegal traffic.  By being a contact frequency to handle third-party traffic where permitted by treaty or mutual agreement of our respective countries and where amateurs may contact each other.  To provide a means of emergency communication when normal means are disrupted or where telecommunications are not available from a particular location.

The Net Manager is Ernie Bonner - K4ZQ and he will be very happy to answer your questions or tell you how you may become a Net Control.
